RFQ Call for Muralists: Visión Art Fest

April 13, 2026| in Artist Community, Call for Artists, Featured, Public Art| by San Benito County Arts Council

Requests for Qualifications for Muralists for new Visión Art Fest.

The San Benito County Arts Council invites California-based artists and artist teams to submit their qualifications to create and install a site-specific mural on one of five walls located in downtown Hollister, California as part of the new Visión Art Festival.

Visión Art Fest is a 2 week long, community-rooted mural festival designed to honor, reflect and elevate the stories, images and lived experiences of our community through vibrant public art. Supported by a grant from the California Arts Council as well as through donations from private donors, this festival will create 5 new murals in downtown Hollister in August 2026.

Interested applicants may view the request for qualifications (RFQ) guidelines and application by clicking on this application link. All applications are due by 11:59 pm, Sunday May 3, 2026; late submissions will not be accepted. All applications must be submitted online via the RFQ Google, artists will be notified by Tuesday June 2nd.

After the submission deadline, a review panel will select up to 5 artist finalists who will be paired with one of the designated mural walls and have time and resources to develop their mural designs. Once their designs are approved, the artist will be notified of the painting period with the goal that all 5 murals will be installed during a community-wide mural festival during the last two weeks of August 2026.

*Please note that this opportunity is open to California-based artists and artist teams.
